Carroll liked the look of the big 20" wheels and new that it would hurt performance. The backspacing with the Shelby Alcoa wheels would only allow for 275's in the rear. The ZR-1 has much better grip stock for stock running 355's in the rear....huge difference.
But damn those are some mighty good looking wheels Mr. Shelby.
